How to connect Idealpos to Xero

  • Before proceeding, ensure that two-form factor authentication has been enabled in Xero.

  • Step 1. Ensure that your system is licensed for Xero. This can be confirmed by going to: Setup > License Gateway, then ensure that Xero appears for the current terminal you are using (the current terminal is highlighted in green)

  • Step 2. Go to: Setup > Global Options > Accounting > Select "XERO (OAUTH2) from the Accounting Package dropdown box, then press "Connect to Xero".

  • Step 3. Enter your Username and Password to login to Xero.

  • Step 4. Enter the two-form factor code to login.

  • Step 5. Select your Organisation from the dropdown list, then press "Connect".

  • Step 6. Idealpos will now establish a connection. Once the connection has been established successfully, your Chart of Accounts will appear on the right-hand side of the window.

  • Step 7. Drag your Chart of Account Codes from the right-hand side into your Idealpos Account Codes on the left-hand side. Please seek assistance from your Bookkeeper if required.
