Fuel Station POS Systems

Idealpos has the ability to offer a professional and integrated solution for service stations that also want to use the Idealpos Point of Sale System. Many systems cannot integrate between the services that are required in these unique environments, but the solution provided by Idealpos can do just that and more.

Although it seems like a simple thing, to put a POS System into a fuel station, it is anything but. Service stations on their own require professional and regulated equipment that performs time and again with repeated use, usually by the general public who give no thought to how fuel is delivered, stored, supplied and equated.

At the same time, being able to run a service station that sells more than just fuel, from hot pies, cold drinks, ice cream, newspapers and other grocery type items, requires a specialized Point of Sale system that can handle it.

Idealpos has an interface with the POSTEC Fuel Console, which seamlessly integrates the best of both worlds. Incorporating world class Point of Sale functionality from Idealpos, with regulated and certified POSTEC Fuel control software and hardware, a service station can be up to date with the latest in technology.

Idealpos also integrates with the Gilbarco T24 and Transponder Technologies FC6000 fuel consoles. While not a full two-way direct software interface, the fuel sales can be easily pushed into the Idealpos sales window allowing the two systems to work in conjunction providing a better point of sale system for other areas of the business, such as stock control and retail sales.

POSTEC Fuel Console

POSTEC Fuel Console

Fully certified integration with POSTEC software and dedicated interface. POSTEC software controls the fuel pumps of service stations. The interface allows Idealpos to connect to the Fuel console to retrieve the litres of fuel.

Idealpos is programmed with the price per litre, so when the petrol pump number is pressed on the console, the amount in litres is transferred to Idealpos, and the dollar amount is automatically calculated.

Gilbarco T24 and FC6000 Compatible

Gilbarco T24 and FC6000 Compatible

While we highly recommend the installation of the fully integrated system using the POSTEC console, this is not always possible for various reasons. Idealpos is able to be used with the Gilbarco T24 and FC6000 fuel consoles through a serial modem link cable.

The Gilbarco T24 and FC6000 integration is an easy connection solution using existing fuel console hardware. While the grades are set in the terminal, the sale needs to be finalised and sent from the console to the Idealpos system manually using the console keyboard.

Customer Accounts

Customer Accounts

Customer accounts can be used to offer your local customers an easy means of paying which allows them to finish their transaction quickly. This will allow you to track their sales and offer loyalty rewards if you wish.

Many service stations will also have a lot of repeat business from local business operators requiring fuel and other items for their fleet of vehicles. Using Sub-Accounts, you can have a Master Account that is setup for the business as a whole, with each sub-account keeping track of each vehicle or employees transactions.

Integrated EFTPOS

Integrated EFTPOS

Idealpos supports up to 18 different two-way interfaces to EFTPOS Terminals for Australia, New Zealand, U.S. and Canadian markets.

By connecting your EFTPOS to your Point of Sale System, you help eliminate operator error by sending the sale and cash out amount to the EFTPOS terminal. The EFTPOS terminal will connect to the bank and upon approval will return an approval response so that the operator is able to finalise the sale.

Having an integrated solution will also speed up the transaction as the operator doesn't have to enter values into a pin pad and deal with multiple receipts.

Barcode Scanning

Barcode Scanning

Barcodes are used in Idealpos for the fast entry of stock items into the sales screen using a barcode scanner, or for stock control using the Stock Manage app. Scanning can also be used on customer accounts for membership cards, bar tabs, accounts and for employees to log onto a sale. Barcodes can also be used when printed on gift vouchers, credit notes, receipts and coupons for faster service.

Barcodes are fast and secure so help you go about your business knowing that mistakes are kept to a minimum. Used in conjunction with label printing and Idealpos' internal barcode creation facility, you can achieve great results very quickly.

Label Printing

Label Printing

Idealpos can create labels that can be printed out onto various mediums for use with barcode scanners. Stock Items, Customers and Promotions can be printed using various label settings. Idealpos can add a scancode to all stock items automatically if required.

Labels are most useful in being able to add barcodes to items that originally don't come with them as standard. This then allows the stock items to be scanned quickly during a sale, but also to be scanned easily during a stocktake.

When selecting labels to print you are able to select multiple items in one go, saving you time from multiple searches. When selecting items to print you can select lines in blocks or individual lines.

Pocket Stock app

Pocket Stock app

Idealpos utilises an app to allow you better management tools for the serious side of your business, stock control. With Pocket Stock, you are able to perform a stocktake on all your locations, view/change prices, transfer stock between locations, receive items into stock and assign barcodes to all items.

If required, you can use a scanning device by Linea Pro which gives your phone extra functionality. This scanning device is not required, however, by having the scanning device, your efficiency will be increased, enabling you to scan all your items in a timely manner.

Pocket Stock links directly to Idealpos and transfers data in a matter of seconds, allowing you to get on with the job you need to do.

Fuel Discount Vouchers

Fuel Discount Vouchers

If your service station accepts discount vouchers from large supermarkets, such as "4c per Litre Discount", Idealpos is able to handle it using coupon promotions.

Enter the details of the coupons you are able to accept using the External Coupon Linking function included in the coupon setup.

All coupons will be recorded and can be reported on in various reports.
